This week R bought two of his "dream toys".... a LCD big screen television and a Home Server. Why is it that the boy toys are always more expensive than the little things that girls want? Or maybe I'm just a simple person that gets excited over multi-colored Sharpie pen sets. That is a question that I have never found the answer for.
We went shopping at the Sony store after R recieved an email with special deals for MS employees. He's been looking at LCD screens for a couple of years, but can't easily part with his money. I know most of you have had big screen televisions for a few years now, but we're never the first ones, or the second, to jump on board the electronic bandwagon. He had studied it out online before even stepping into the store, so when he arrived he knew just what he was looking for. Spanning the displays, it was love at first sight! I left him in the store to drool and caress the 52" LCD. I went to Crate & Barrel to look at all the "little" things that were on MY wish list.
When I returned to the Sony store, he had purchased his dream boat and was waiting for it to be brought up front to load in our van. He loaded it up, we had a celebratory milk shake and then headed home for the "set up" ceremony. I again, left him home and went shopping with the girls.
Flash forward 5 hours prior to him purchasing his new toy....we were at Costco ordering R new glasses with a prescription for bifocal lenses.....maybe there is a correlation here.
If you enter our home, you will find 5 couch potatoes positioned on the sectional, in a trance, watching the "toy". You won't find me, I'm labeling with my multi-colored Sharpies, until they start watching "Pride and Prejudice"....oh that Mr. Darcy.
When R gets back from Singapore, I'm sure he'll be working on the home server "set-up", he got a little distracted with deal deadlines.
