R only had to work 1/2 day on Thursday so r and I decided to see a few sights we had missed the first day.
We walked to Trinity College and the Book of Kells was not on display. We kept on walking to our next stop, Marsh Library. We had heard about this library that they would make the patrons choose their book and then they would lock them in a caged in reading area. The times were poor and they had a problem with patrons stealing the books, so they locked them up. Some of the books were on chains in the library to prevent thievery.

Founded in 1701, Marsh's Library was the first public library in Ireland and celebrated its 300th anniversary in 2001. The library contains over 25,000 books relating to the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries.
Inside the City Hall's Dome. Many scenes from "Becoming Jane" was filmed inside and outside of the city hall. Another bit o'trivia...Ireland does not have a tax on film companies filming movies in Ireland. Many movies are filmed in Ireland because of this.

Christchurch Cathedral

We also visited St. Patrick Cathedral and walked around the parks and pubs of Dublin...

We met R back at the hotel and headed to the Kilmainham Gaol (pronounced Jail)
The leaders of the 1916 Easter Rising were held and executed here. We arrived too late to get into the last tour, however we went into the museum and felt like we'd seen it all. We would definitely return for the tour when visiting Dublin again.

We then walked around Dublin and killed time before going to the Arlington Hotel to see the Irish Dancers and Musicians...this was r at the performance...
